Research Philosophy
At Seed Research of Oregon, we strive to offer new and superior turfgrass varieties that are unique in the marketplace. Our products include many species, to assure you of the best grass for a particular use and site.
As part of our commitment to our customers we have expanded our warm-season turf grass breeding program. Our acquisition of germplasm for development of new varieties will provide even more options for our customers' warm-season needs.
Disease resistance, high endophyte levels, and good stress tolerance are critical issues when developing new varieties. We continually evaluate our turfs in high stress environments and maintain a program of obtaining and utilizing unique germplasms. This ensures that when you plant our varieties, not only will they survive adversity, they will look good for years to come.

Our advisory committee and distributor network are critical to our research program. We believe in listening to our customers to ensure that our products meet their specific needs. We believe in evaluations under use conditions, so our varieties will perform for the customer.
Through our working network of universities, researchers, public and private breeders, distributors, and customers worldwide we are able to identify and test unique products. Seed Research of Oregon is committed to finding solutions to any turf problems.

We are committed to exploring the increasing options available through biotechnology. The science of grass genomics aids in understanding and utilizing new sources of resistance and stress tolerance. We are also exploring genetic engineering for unique genes that may benefit turf users. Overall, we are committed to reducing the inputs necessary to obtain quality turf, for the benefit of our environment.
