Native to western North America, from Rocky Mountains south to southern California; grows to 18”; similar to P. secunda but taller, more vigorous, longer leaved, and later maturing; better seed production than Sandberg Bluegrass.
Drill seeded to 1/4” – 1/2” deep at 3–5 pounds PLS/acre (use 50–100% more if broadcast seeding). 925,000 seeds/pound.
Germination in 28 days, weak seedling vigor, plant fall or spring.
