Native to North America, from Montana to west Texas, and west to the Pacific; grows to 4’; very tolerant of salt and alkaline soils, well suited to coarse, sandy textured soils, adapted to medium to heavy soils; fairly winter hardy; very rhizomatous, excellent soil stabilization; adapted to lowlands and stream banks; not competitive; extremely low maintenance.

Drill seeded at 10–15 pounds PLS/acre. 50,000 seeds/pound.
