Native from central Nebraska eastward, and throughout the southeastern United States; grows to nearly 10'; well adapted to stream banks, swales and grasslands; poor seed production, most reproduction through rhizomatous nature; excellent forage, but a decreaser. Prechill seeds for better germination. Stands respond well to fertility.

Drill seeded to 3/4” deep at 8 pounds PLS/acre in spring (soil temperatures >55° F)
