Native to the west, throughout the Rockies; grows to 4’; well adapted to moist, deep, well drained, medium textured soils, sometimes in poorer drained soils; well suited to a wide range of conditions from mountain slopes to valleys and meadows.

Also, Blando Brome (Bromus mollis or B. hordeaceus) – annual or short-lived perennial grass; introduced from Europe, naturalized in California. ‘Soft Chess’

Drill seeded at 10 pounds PLS/acre. 90,000 seeds/pound.

Germination in 14 days, early spring/late summer.

Varieties
Bromar – tall leafy, late maturing forage type
Garnet – similar to Bromar – improved Head Smut resistance and better vigor
