Native to the northern Great Plains; grow to 5’; excellent sand-binding grass, deep fibrous roots and rhizomes; best adapted to sandy soils, some silty, deep medium textured soils; weakly adapted to saline-nonsodic, acidic and alkaline soils; extremely drought tolerant, good replacement for bluestems, gramas, and needlegrass.

Drill seeded to 1" deep at 4–7 pounds PLS/acre (use 50–100% more seed if broadcast seeding). 274,000 seeds/pound.
