Adapted to most all North American soils and climates; some varieties grow to 4'; best adapted to moist soils; excellent wetlands use, tolerant of poorly drained or wet soils; fairly tolerant of saline, acidic soils; will tolerate some shade.

Drill or broadcast seed no deeper than 1/4” at 5–10 pounds PLS/acre (or 2–5 pounds PLS acre in mixes). 4,900,000 seeds/pound.

Germination usually less than 10 days, although longer in less favorable soil temperatures.
