Native to North America from the mid-Atlantic, through the Great Lakes, across the northern Great Plains, and throughout the Rocky Mountains and Pacific coast; grows to 2-4’; well adapted to a wide variety of soil types and textures; especially well suited to bogs, wetlands, stream banks and marshes; tolerant of saline and alkaline conditions; broadly variable genotypes; can be used as a specimen or as turf.

Seeded at 1–2 pounds PLS/acre; higher rates for turf (to 2lbs./1,000 ft2). 2,500,000 seeds/pound.
